Election Day

The Lizards participated in the PreK mock election today. First, they found their name on a sign-in sheet and wrote their name. Second, they filled out the ballot circling the picture of their favorite candidate and dropped it in a sealed box. Last, they received an "I VOTED" sticker.

Lastly, we are relating the election to our own classroom. Today, we received 2 new fish for our classroom pets. We have a red fish and blue fish. Tonight, children are to think of several good girl and boy names. Tomorrow, we will brainstorm as a class and share our names. Last, we will hold "an election" for the names of our new fish.

Ms. Lewis (school counselor) made a visit to our class on Monday. She shared a book on being yourself. We learned how to compliment our friends.

Macy and Maddie worked a new shapes puzzle. Gray and Charlie wrote at the writing center. Kayla worked a new patterns puzzle and put the entire puzzle together by herself.

Police Visit

We were lucky enough to have a parent from Ms. Strom's class that serves as a Little Rock Police Officer visit with the PreK as a continuation of our Community Helpers Unit. Students were able to see the lights, listen to the siren, and crawl through the backseat of the vehicle.

Ambulance Visit

Continuing our study on Community Helpers, we had a great lesson today from a paramedic. We were able to listen to stories, learn about how the ambulance operates, and the role a paramedic plays in our community.

Pumpkin Patch

Unfortunately we were unable to travel to Motley's Pumpkin Patch today, but that didn't stop the pumpkin patch coming to us!!!!
Thanks to Tarra Morris and her sidekicks Ms. Monica and Ms. Teba, we had a fabulous time celebrating this cold, rainy day and picking pumpkins by the cottage in our flex space.
Thanks to these MOMs for pulling off an impromptu pumpkin patch and delighting our kids.
