Making cinnamon ornaments

The Lizards had a science lesson while making some sweet smelling cinnamon ornaments. The ornaments were sent home in the kids' Christmas bags on Thursday. Hope they smell great in everyone's homes! I know they really made our classroom "smell like Christmas"!

Simply combine 2 cups of applesauce and 2 cups of cinnamon together

What does cinnamon smell like?

Measuring and mixing

Stir

Roll the dough out

Cut the dough in the shape of gingerbread men

Learning about Ramadan

Selma Dagtas, mother of Kaan in Ms. Stacker's class, spoke to PreK students today about Ramadan and the culminating celebration of Eid. Ramadan is the month of December in which Muslims fast and pray. Eid is a religious holiday that marks the end of Ramadan; Muslims are not allowed to fast and they partake in sweets and good treats. Selma and Kaan are from Turkey. It is so much fun to learn about holidays and traditions from around the world!
