Pinnacle Mountain Interpreter - 4th visit

Interpreter Spillman visited the PreK for our 4th and final visit. It was so nice to have him present a lesson each week focusing on our topic of study, Awesome Animals. This week, Interpreter Spillman spoke to the kids and shared pictures about the various life cycles of animals. We played a matching game using Arkansas animals where we matched the baby to the parent. Last, we worked together to make life cycle mobiles of a butterfly. What a great opportunity for the kids to learn more about animals found in our own state!

Yoga

A few of my students decided to try a lesson on Yoga during lunch today. It required a lot of concentration and flexibly, but they seemed to have a good time!

Jacqueline's Tooth

Jacqueline just lost a very wiggly tooth. I guess the tooth fairy will be making a visit to her home tonight!

Unicyclist

Justin Cloar, WatchDog Dad and a parent at Roberts, performed for us earlier this week on his unicycle. He told us a little about the sport, safety issues when riding any kind of bike, and how he became interested in this hobby.

Pinnacle Mountain - visit 2

Interpreter Spillman visited us again from Pinnacle Mountain State Park. We had a fun time learning about animals' habitats. We played a matching game by matching the animal to its correct habitat, then we actually worked in groups to build a habitat for an animal using mulch for vegetation, aluminum foil for water, and pipe cleaners for the trees. The girls built a home for an alligator and the boys built a home for a white tail deer.
