Letter "B" Chart

Each Friday, we make a letter chart with all the words we can think of that start with the letter of the week. Today, we completed our letter "B"chart with 16 words (one more than last week). I was very proud of the Lizards and all the words they remembered that start with the letter "B". Hint - On Thursday evenings, talk with your child about words that start with the letter of the week. They always like to share unique words that no one else thought of for the day.

Baking Bread for the Letter "B"

The Lizards had so much fun baking bread for the letter "B" this week! Not only did we measure, talk about ingredients, etc...we read The Little Red Hen and discussed how if only the animals had assisted the Little Red Hen, they could have all partaken in the bread. Good thing we all worked together and cooperated, because the bread was yummy!

Fun Run 2019

What a terrific time The Lizards had at Friday's Fun Run. We had parents and grandparents cheering us on as we walked, jogged, danced, and ran our way around the loop! Plus, the weather even cooled down a bit for us with some cloud coverage. Last I heard, Fulbright surpassed their goal of $30,000 raised from this event. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support and encouragement you gave our school for this endeavor.

A is for Apples

We loved learning about the letter "A" this week, so what better way to celebrate than by apple tasting? Students tried three types of apples, then we graphed their favorite one. Red was a big winner with the Lizards!

Letter A stands for Arkansas

We support the Razorbacks, and we love the letter "A". Wear your Razorback t-shirts on Thursdays during football season to say, "Go Hogs!"

Flubber

Flubber is so much fun to play with at school and fun to make. After reading Friends at School by Rochelle Bunnett, we decided to make flubber just like the kids in the book did in their classroom. Two parts cornstarch, one part water, and food coloring give you flubber. Students explored the properties of objects and material and how they change.
