A is for Apples

What a fun day we've had celebrating the letter "A". We made apples by painting paper plates. Then, we tasted red and green apples in order to graph our favorite. Red apples was the class' favorite!

A is for Arkansas!

What a perfect week to celebrate our home state of Arkansas then by wearing Arkansas regalia to school to celebrate the letter "A" and cheer the Hogs on for their first game. I encourage everyone to show their Arkansas spirit by wearing Razorback attire each Thursday of school for the remainder of the football season.

PE - Scoops and balls

Coach Cameron asked students to participate in an activity using scoops and balls in order to improve their eye hand coordination. I was super proud of the Lizards for working with a partner and following directions.

Meet Ms. Langley (art teacher)

Ms. Langley visits PreK on Wednesday mornings. We create and learn so many new things when Ms. Langley is with us. Today, we completed two short lessons. First, she reviewed the solar eclipse that occurred on Monday. Students then traced a circle with chalk, smeared the chalk, and created their own solar eclipse. Next, we completed a lesson from last week on the subject of self-portraits. Students observed their facial features in mirrors, then used shapes to create a self-portrait. A majority of their work will be kept in their "Art Journals" until the end of this semester when it will be sent home. I was really impressed with the details they added to their faces.
