Nurse Lezley visits The Lizards

Fulbright's own, Nurse Lezely Cooper, was nice enough to take time out of her busy schedule to visit The Lizards this morning and speak on the topic of dental hygiene. She spoke to them about "sugary foods" and "good foods" for your teeth. We played a game where the students distinguished between the two choices. Afterwards, she had a large replica of a mouth and demonstrated the correct way for kids to brush and floss their teeth. We are very lucky to have her in our building and share her knowledge with the kids!

Using our sense of taste

This week The Lizards have been discovering more about their five senses and how they use them everyday. Today, we focused on our sense of taste. I presented each student with a slice of lemon (sour), a pretzel stick (salty), and a few M&M's (sweet). After tasting each item, students recorded their information on a data sheet. Most students liked more than one flavor, but M&M's was definitely our winner! (Side-note - I had to get lots of pictures with them trying the sour lemon - too cute!!!)

Queen for the Letter "Q"

Our moms were treated liked royalty this morning as we honored them as "Queens of the Day"! The Lizards treated their moms to breakfast, homemade crowns, a completed questionnaire about their mothers, and lovely "Castle and Queen artwork". We hope our moms felt special and enjoyed this time with their kiddos.
