Ishika turns 5!

Our sweet little Ishika turned 5 this week! She's such a joy to have in our classroom. Ishika is a super friend to the kids and a terrific student for Ms Gomillion and me.

Recycling into art

These 4 guys were so inspired by the kindergartners' recycled art exhibit at Roberts, that they decided last night to go home and create some really cool things!

Career Day at Roberts

Today was Career Day at Roberts! A variety of companies and professions were represented explaining their careers to the children. Everyone in the school participated! The Lizards were lucky enough to visit with workmen from Two Men and a Truck Moving Service, Entergy, and CWP Carpet Cleaning. The men at each station couldn't have been nicer and more patient answering questions and demonstrating their equipment.

Celebrating Earth Day

Earth Day was April 22nd and we've been learning how to take care of the Earth. Don't be surprised if your kids spot the recycling logos on all sorts of objects! Also, we've been recycling our own paper, plastics, and aluminum after lunch and snack time.

We made our own "Earths" from coffee filters. They're great sun-catchers.

Look for the recycling logo!

Center Time

We stayed inside today while the 3rd-5th graders completed their state testing. This gave us lots of time to enjoy our centers in our room. I'm so proud of my kiddos because they are engaged in books, writing, and lots of other higher-level thinking activities. Center time is their free choice, so they can participate in anything they find interesting.

Learning our addresses and phone numbers

We are still working on learning our phone numbers, addresses, and how to dial 911. Please make sure your child knows how to use your cell phone and can get to the keypad so they can dial 911.
