PE begins in PreK!

We are so lucky to have Coach John Cameron teach our PreK students PE on Tuesday mornings. He will work on a variety of gross motor skills over the school year, including rolling a ball, kicking a ball, throwing a Frisbee, etc.. Today we practiced learning our left from our right (we'll work on this all year), and we learned how to properly roll a ball and catch it with both hands. Always remember to wear tennis shoes on Tuesdays and comfortable clothing.

Centers Begin to Open in the Classroom

Today was a huge day for The Lizards as we began to open the centers in the classroom. They have been "chomping at the bits" to explore and learn in the centers. We began slowly today and will rotate to different locations in the classroom as the week progresses. Our main focus for the next few weeks are rules, routines, and rituals in the classroom. They did a great job and caught on quickly!

Graphing

This year, one of our first concepts to try was counting/comparing the number of boys and girls in our class and then graphing our results. We learned that we have 11 boys and 9 girls in our class. That makes 19 total!
