Buried Treasure

With the recent rain, the dirt on the PreK playground became very soft. Over the last few weeks, the boys in particular started digging a large hole. They were convinced that they would either find buried pirate treasure or dinosaur bones. This morning before school started, I gave the pirates a little help by burying some chocolate coins beneath the surface. It took the boys about 30 minutes of hard digging, but they finally found treasure - chocolate coins! The boys were super nice by deciding to share their treasure with the entire class. We even did a small lesson on counting and dividing the coins.
